Anthropic (Claude)
Anthropic is the company that makes Claude, an AI assistant sold on free and paid consumer tiers alongside developer API access. Its consumer terms explain why a paid plan arrives as a lump sum rather than a running meter: a subscription lasts for an initial term and then automatically renews for a further term equal in length to it, and the fees for the initial term and for each renewal term are paid up front at the start of that term. An annual plan therefore lands as one large charge once a year rather than twelve small ones, and the terms require cancellation at least 24 hours before a renewal for the next term not to run.
