Getting your statement out of UBS

UBS keeps bank documents in E-Banking under Bankdokumente, filed by document type, with Kontoauszug as the statement type. Card transactions are exported separately from the Kartentransaktionen screen as a CSV. UBS's documentation on digital bank documents says they are delivered to the E-Banking mailbox several times a day and remain available there for 10 years — a longer archive than most banks offer.

Find statements in E-Banking (Bankdokumente)

  1. Log in to E-Banking.
  2. Choose Dokumente, then Bankdokumente.
  3. Use the filter and set Dokumenttypen to Kontoauszug.
  4. Narrow by period or status if you need a specific month.
  5. Download the statement as a PDF.

The same filter reaches Steuer-Reporting for tax documents and Wertschriften for securities reports.

Find statements in the UBS Mobile Banking app

  1. Open the UBS Mobile Banking app and log in.
  2. Go to Profil.
  3. Tap Bankdokumente.
  4. Use the Von and Bis date fields to narrow the range.
  5. Open the document and save or share the PDF.

Export card transactions as CSV

  1. In E-Banking, click Konten & Karten, then Kartentransaktionen.
  2. Set Transaktionsstatus to Verbuchte und verrechnete so pending items are excluded.
  3. Choose the period you need.
  4. Click the green Excel icon to download transactions.csv.

This covers card transactions. Account statements come from Bankdokumente as PDFs.

Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against UBS's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.

What UBS gives you natively

Statements are PDFs, filed by document type in Bankdokumente. Card transactions have their own export: a green Excel icon on the Kartentransaktionen screen produces a file named transactions.csv. There is no single 'export everything' control — statements and card transactions live in different places and come out in different formats.

How far back you can go

UBS's documentation on digital bank documents says they arrive in the personal E-Banking mailbox several times a day and stay available for 10 years. That is unusually long — most banks keep 7 — and it means a Swiss multi-year history for a mortgage, a tax filing or an accountant is usually still sitting in E-Banking rather than needing a request to the bank.

UBS statement quirks worth knowing

These are the details that trip people up when a UBS export doesn't line up with the statement it came from — worth reading before you assume the conversion is wrong.

  • Statements and card transactions are separate exports in separate parts of E-Banking. Bankdokumente holds the PDFs; the CSV lives on the Kartentransaktionen screen behind a green Excel icon.
  • The card export defaults to including pending items. Set Transaktionsstatus to Verbuchte und verrechnete (booked and settled) first, or the file will not agree with the statement.
  • The Bankdokumente filing is by Dokumenttyp, and Kontoauszug sits alongside Steuer-Reporting and Wertschriften. Filtering by type is faster than scrolling a mixed list, especially on an account that also gets tax and securities documents.
  • The interface is German-first on the Swiss site (ubs.com/ch/de). French and Italian versions exist and the destinations are the same, but the labels differ — Kontoauszug, Bankdokumente, Kartentransaktionen.
  • UBS reports amounts in the account's currency, and multi-currency relationships are common in Switzerland — check which account a file came from before combining exports.

Don't just convert it — understand it

The same upload also produces a full analysis of your UBSstatement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions

Where are UBS statements in E-Banking?

Under Dokumente, then Bankdokumente. Use the filter and set Dokumenttypen to Kontoauszug — the same list also holds Steuer-Reporting and Wertschriften documents, so filtering by type saves scrolling. In the mobile app the path is Profil, then Bankdokumente.

How do I get a CSV out of UBS?

The CSV export is for card transactions, not account statements. Go to Konten & Karten, then Kartentransaktionen, set Transaktionsstatus to Verbuchte und verrechnete, pick the period, and click the green Excel icon — you get a file called transactions.csv. Account statements are PDFs, so a spreadsheet of those means converting them.

Why doesn't my UBS card CSV match my statement?

Most often because pending items are included. Set Transaktionsstatus to Verbuchte und verrechnete (booked and settled) before exporting. The statement only ever contains settled entries, so any pending row in the CSV is a difference by design.

How far back do UBS documents go?

UBS's digital bank documents documentation says they remain available in the E-Banking mailbox for 10 years, which is longer than the 7 years most banks offer. In practice that means a long Swiss history is usually still downloadable rather than something you have to order.

How do I convert a UBS statement to CSV or Excel?

Download a statement from your UBS app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.

Does it work with UBS PDF statements?

Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.

Is my statement safe?

Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.

Is it free?

Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
