Convert an Invoice to Excel

Stop retyping invoices. Upload the PDF and get an Excel workbook of the line items plus the header fields — vendor, invoice number, dates, PO. Then the part other tools skip: we check the printed subtotal, tax and total actually add up, and tell you when they don't.

Totals independently checked

Line items → subtotal → tax → total, verified arithmetically. A wrong invoice gets flagged, not forwarded.

Header fields extracted

Vendor, invoice number, invoice date, due date, PO number — captured alongside the line items.

No templates to build

Different suppliers, different layouts — extraction is layout-agnostic, so every vendor's invoice just works.

How it works

  1. 1Upload the invoice PDF.
  2. 2We extract the line items and header fields.
  3. 3We verify the totals: line items → subtotal → tax → total.
  4. 4Review the ✓ Totals reconcile check, then download Excel (or CSV/JSON/Markdown).

What you download: An Excel workbook of the invoice's line items, the extracted header fields, and an on-screen totals-reconcile verdict — so you catch a wrong invoice before it reaches your books.

Invoice data extraction you can actually trust

Every extraction tool returns numbers. The question is whether the numbers are right — a misread digit in a total is worse than no extraction at all, because it looks correct. That's why we never stop at extraction: the line items are summed and compared to the printed subtotal, and subtotal plus tax is compared to the printed total. Agreement earns a ✓ Totals reconcile badge; disagreement gets flagged with exactly which check failed. We never invent a figure the invoice doesn't print — that's what makes the check meaningful.

From PDF invoice to Excel in one pass

The workbook carries the line items with their printed columns — description, quantity, unit price, amount — as typed cells ready to sum and pivot. Header fields ride along, so vendor and invoice number don't need a second copy-paste. Prefer CSV for your accounts system, JSON for a script, or Markdown for an AI workflow? Same extraction, four downloads.

Hundreds of invoices from different suppliers?

Layout-agnostic extraction means there's no per-vendor template to build or maintain — a new supplier's invoice works the first time. Upload several at once with batch upload, and each file returns its own verdict, so the ones needing a human eye separate themselves from the ones that check out.

What about scanned invoices?

Digital PDFs with a real text layer give exact results — we read the document's own characters and coordinates, not a picture of them. If you upload a pure scan with no selectable text, we detect it and tell you honestly instead of returning garbage rows.

Questions

How do I convert a PDF invoice to Excel?

Upload it above — line items and header fields are extracted, the totals are verified, and the .xlsx downloads instantly. First document free.

What does the totals check actually verify?

Two things, arithmetically: that the line items sum to the printed subtotal, and that subtotal plus tax equals the printed total. Each check is shown pass/fail.

Does it invent a total if one is missing?

Never. We only report figures the invoice actually prints — if a value isn't there, it stays empty rather than being 'helpfully' calculated.

Can it handle invoices from many different suppliers?

Yes — extraction is layout-agnostic, no templates. Different vendors' invoices work without setup.

Can I process several invoices at once?

Yes — batch upload takes multiple PDFs (or a zip) and returns a per-file verdict list.

Is my invoice stored?

Files are never stored — the original is deleted within 24 hours, parsed data follows your plan's retention window, and you can delete everything instantly. Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is saved.
