Convert Receipts to a Spreadsheet

Type out receipts and you'll mistype one — that's the nature of expense night. Upload the PDF instead: items, subtotal, tax, tip and total extracted into a spreadsheet, with the arithmetic checked so your expense records start out right.

CSVExcelJSONMarkdown

Choose a PDF (or CSV, Excel — up to 5 MB)

Tip-aware maths

Subtotal + tax + tip is checked against the printed total — restaurant receipts reconcile correctly.

Merchant & payment captured

Merchant name, date, receipt number and payment method are extracted alongside the items.

Expense-ready

A clean CSV row set that pastes straight into your expense sheet or accounting import.

How it works

  1. 1Upload the receipt PDF.
  2. 2We extract the items, fields and totals — and verify they add up.
  3. 3Download CSV for your expenses or bookkeeping.

What you download: A CSV of the receipt's line items, the extracted fields (merchant, date, payment method), and a verdict on whether the printed figures add up — tip included.

Receipt data extraction with the maths checked

A receipt is small enough that errors hide in plain sight — a tip typo, a mis-keyed tax. We extract what the receipt prints (merchant, date, items, subtotal, tax, tip, total) and then verify it: items against the subtotal, subtotal plus tax plus tip against the total. The ✓ badge means the numbers agree; a flag means look before you file.

From a folder of receipts to one expense sheet

Batch upload takes multiple receipt PDFs at once — each returns its own row count and verdict. Download each CSV and paste into your running expense sheet, or take JSON if a script is doing the collating.

Receipts vs bank statements for expense tracking

Receipts carry the itemisation; your bank statement carries the payment trail. This tool handles the receipts. For the statement side — merchant identification, subscription detection, category totals — upload it to the bank statement analyser and let the two views cross-check each other.

What about photographed receipts?

Digital PDFs with a real text layer give exact results — we read the document's own characters and coordinates, not a picture of them. If you upload a pure scan with no selectable text, we detect it and tell you honestly instead of returning garbage rows.

Free converter

Convert your statement — and understand it too

A free account converts a statement page every day to CSV, Excel, QIF or OFX — with every transaction matched to a real merchant name, not a cryptic descriptor. No card required; files deleted after 24 hours.

No bank logins · card numbers redacted before storage · everything deleted after 24 hours

Questions

How do I get a receipt into a spreadsheet?

Upload the PDF above — items and totals are extracted and verified, and the CSV downloads instantly. First document free.

Does it handle tips?

Yes — tip is extracted as its own field and included in the total check: subtotal + tax + tip must equal the printed total.

Photos of paper receipts?

A digital PDF with selectable text works best. A pure photo has no text layer to read — we detect that and say so rather than guessing.

Does it categorise my expenses?

This tool extracts the receipt as printed. Categorisation and merchant enrichment live in the bank-statement analysis side of the product.

Can I do a batch of receipts?

Yes — upload several PDFs (or a zip) together; each returns its own verdict.

Is my data private?

Files are never stored — the original is deleted within 24 hours, parsed data follows your plan's retention window, and you can delete everything instantly. Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is saved.
